Show notes
I’m delighted to welcome Haitham Mattar, MD at the Intercontinental Hotel Group for India, Middle East & Africa to What I Did Next this week.
In addition to working for global hotel giants such as the Marriott and Hilton along with the Intercontinental of course, Haitham has also led tourism for the Governments of Ras Al Khaimah and Saudi Arabia. His story is one of the sheer individual will, grit and resilience, starting with his first job at the age of 17.
He also tells me about the importance of maintaining and nurturing relationships and how he’s now trying to get new generations interested in hospitality.
On our bonus episode for members out next week, we’ll dig into Haitham’s work as Sr. Advisor to the Saudi Arabia Minister of Tourism and how he’s a data junkie—he wears three different devices to measures his vitals!
